We had a perfect winter day in Oslo, and conditions stayed consistent throughout the race,” said Green. “It's always a great feeling to shoot clean, and when it comes with a personal best result it makes it even better. I'm happy with today, but I know there is still work to be done and improvements that can be made.”

NOVE MESTO, Cze.—Brendan Green grabbed the final spot in the top-20 of a men’s pursuit competition at the Biathlon World Cup in Nove Mesto, Czech Repbulic on Sunday.

Starting time-behind-the-leaders of Saturday’s sprint race, the 25-year-old Hay River, N.W.T. resident climbed nine spots to finish 20th in the men’s 12.5-kilometre pursuit with a time of 36:58.0.

Russia’s Anton Shipulin matched Green by missing just one shot in four trips to the range to win the gold medal at 34:50.8. Germany’s Arnd Peiffer clocked-in at 35:01.9 to place second, while Martin Fourcade, of France, claimed the bronze at 35:04.3.

Regina’s Scott Perras was the only other Canadian in the men’s competition, and finished 43rd (36:32.3).

Earlier in the day Zina Kocher led two Canadian women in the 10-kilometre pursuit. The Red Deer, Alta. Olympian dropped seven spots in the pursuit to finish 30th with a time of 35:30.0. Megan Imrie, of Falcon Lake, Man., capped off her best week of World Cup racing by placing 43rd at 36:32.3.

Norway’s Tora Berger won the women’s event with a time of 31:00.3. Sweden’s Helena Ekholm clocked a silver-medal time of 31:18.2, while Marie Laure Brunet, of France, claimed the bronze at 31:25.4.
