"Thanks for cheering me on in Korea and I'll keep you posted as to how things go!" Brendan Green

World Championship Experience in a Nutshell

It was a great learning experience racing in Korea but at the same time it wasn't your typical Championships and was little weird at times.  Very adverse weather conditions, a double lap in the Sprint in which one athlete accidentally took a short cut and ended up qualifying for and finishing the Pursuit before they noticed, the mix up in the Pursuit race were 15 of the starters went the wrong way off the start (including Ole Einer) but in the end it was ruled that it wasn't an advantage going the way they did, Andrea Henkel firing a bullet through the wall while dry firing before her race which led to her disqualification in the Pursuit.

As for my performances, I was skiing very well in Korea but had a difficult time with the shooting, as did many other athletes.  I am not a fan of the strong wind that seems to be always present on the range! The Relay was by far my best race and I felt very strong skiing and shot decent on my leg.

I leave to Whistler on the 6th to race the World Cup in Whistler.  I'm looking forward to it.  Skiing on natural snow will be a welcomed change and I can't wait to race on the course which will be much more manageable than the trails at World's!  Every time I came off the course in Korea in one piece it was a relief, so racing in the Callaghan should be a nice change!  If I race well there than I may get the opportunity to race the next World Cup in Norway and then would fly straight to National's in Quebec from Trondhiem.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

It's nice to be training in Canmore again, although it's quite cold at the moment...-25!  A shock to the system...

Thanks for cheering me on in Korea and I'll keep you posted as to how things go!
